Rather than demolish, the design intent for this office building centers on adaptive reuse, retaining the building’s structural bones while giving it an entirely new architectural language for a contemporary workplace.

Sited along the national road, the building sits within a pedestrian zone that opens onto two localized green parks, offering staff a rare green outlook in a dense suburban context. This orientation became the starting point for the design: the long north-facing façade needed no additional shading, freeing it to become a fully glazed, welcoming edge, while the sun-exposed west, south and east elevations called for a performative second skin.

The result is a sculptural, faceted canopy that reframes the entrance as a landmark, a triangulated glass volume beneath an oversized folded roof plane, introducing human scale to an otherwise horizontal block. Around it, a vertical louvered skin filters daylight and tempers solar gain, while a planted roof terrace and water features soften the building’s edges and extend the workplace outdoors.
