Designed along Thessaloniki’s green corridor, this proposal transforms the bank into an open, light-filled environment shaped by transparency and connection.

Our proposal rethinks the architecture of the contemporary bank as an open and evolving institution, one that engages with the city, embraces transparency, and redefines the relationship between workspace and public life.
Developed as part of a closed competition, the project envisions a 4,000 sqm office building for a well-established bank in Greece. The ground floor is conceived as the bank’s public-facing branch, an active interface with the everyday life of the city.
Located in populated neighborhood in Thessaloniki, along a green urban corridor, the building is shaped to maximize adjacency to daylight across all workspaces. Its volume is strategically carved to expand the façade surface, allowing for increased glazing, deeper light penetration, and continuous visual connections to the surrounding landscape.
Along the side facing the green corridor, the building steps back, creating a porous edge towards the landscape, where planted terraces and green balconies offer moments of pause and connection to the outdoors.
Organized as a vertical sequence of open and flexible environments, the project promotes transparency not only as an architectural expression, but as a spatial and institutional principle. Envisioned as a contemporary landmark, it reflects a new direction for bank buildings, more accessible, more human-centered, and more connected to the city.
