A&M Unveils Sustainable 4-Star Hospitality Project in Karpathos, Blending Tradition with Contemporary Luxury
A&M unveils the design of a 4-star hospitality project on the western coast of Karapathos, a concept composed to seamlessly blend with the island’s cultural heritage and natural landscapes.
The hotel complex, set across 8,000 square meters in a rural beachfront setting, channels Karpathos traditional architecture, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility that aligns with the demands of sustainable luxury.
The complex is designed to comprise 28 furnished apartment-style units and an exclusive duplex, complemented by a central communal building and discreetly integrated underground service areas. Through a bioclimatic approach, the architecture prioritizes minimal earthwork and respects the site’s natural topography, preserving the island’s iconic dry stone walls, or xerolithies, and an original circular threshing floor, known locally as an aloni. A&M thoughtfully configured the layout to capture unobstructed sea views and optimize natural light, while ensuring privacy and full accessibility across the property.
