History Meets Innovation at the Port of Thessaloniki

The latest issue of KTIRIO Magazine features the ambitious renovation of the “PAEGA” building at the Port of Thessaloniki. A&M Architects, in collaboration with USP, has transformed this 1920s industrial landmark into a multi-dimensional corporate ecosystem for Deloitte.

Architectural Concept: Bright Industrial Style

The design honors the building’s industrial DNA through a “Bright Industrial Style”. Key features include:

  • The 4x4m Grid: A dense column grid organizes the 14,000 m² space, defining both open-plan areas and private offices.
  • Central Atrium: A glass-fronted atrium serves as a circulation hub and provides a direct visual connection to the sea.
  • Materiality: The palette combines exposed ceilings and metal surfaces with wood, mosaic, and colorful acoustic panels.

Employee Well-being Prioritizing “Work, Education, Wellness, and Community,” the facility includes a gym, a restaurant, and an amphitheater. A highlight is the library, offering employees a serene view of the Aegean Sea.
